Who we are

BOP is a project that supports children and orphanages around various parts of Burma. It was launched in response to a trip in February 2009 where the harsh reality of the situation became known.

Children face daily challenges in the form of poverty and lack of education. We therefore hope to support orphanages across the country with prayer, food, shelter, health care and educational development. The plight of these children is real and requires an immediate response. We hope to develop sustainable connections in the future and would appreciate your love and support.

In October 2009 our first fundraiser event took place. Dubbed ‘Shake the Roof & Build a Roof!’, it was held in the cool & quirky Northern Quarter, Manchester. From all accounts, it was a great success, raising $1000 which is already having an immediate and positive impact on people’s lives. Work on the orphanage roof was completed without delay! (See the pictures in the Gallery).

Since then, 2010 has seen the Team Liverpool Half, back in March; the Brighton Marathon in April; The Manchester 10k in May. Then Mike & Harriot walked the grueling 270 miles of The Penine Way in August 2010.  Kicking off 2011, we are genuinely excited for our second fundraiser (more news to follow).

As a none profit organisation, no less than 100% of all donations are directed straight to our cause – to help build up the futures of Burma’s lost generation, to bring hope to the hopeless…
